Milton, the Maple Leaf, was born in the forests of Wisconsin and always wanted to see the snow. But because maple trees are deciduous, very few leaves remain on the branches by the time the first snow falls. Milton learns a lot about himself during his struggle to hold on to his branch. It has turned very cold and all of Milton´s family have already fallen. Will Milton be able to hold on long enough to see winter´s first snow?
